Once again, the cops have returned to ruin another Ink Bomb Event. As many of you may know, Ink Bomb has been canceled due to the presence of cops. The cops showed up ten minutes before the event started, they took a look around the event, and made the call that no tattoo machines and needles can be used at the event. Hearing that bearing news, a lot of tattoo artists decided it was pointless to be there for the artists there to tattoo. The convention continued on without "any tattooing going on". Many Tattoo artists were behind the convention slogan, "Fight For Your Rights", which simply means, fighting for our right to tattoo in Korea, so they just said fuck it and started tattooing! The cops might have stopped the tattooing, but that didnt stop anybody from having a good time! A shot of the crowd later that evening.

Though the cops have told all of the artists to not tattoo, or go to jail, here were the select few tattoo artists that wanted to show their chests! 

Tattooing in Korea has never been Legal, but more than plenty agree that this should be last on the list of things Korea should be Illegal. How is it someone can alter their face to into a million cuts and implants to make them more "beautiful" and tattooing art on ones skin illegal? If cops and doctors would take a second and realize that Plastic Surgery is nothing like Tattooing, but all at the same time, it serves the same purpose. I am not saying tattooing should be in the same category as Plastic Surgery, but im trying to get the point across, that tattooing is a form of Art, from Artists. Ink Bomb being canceled and all doesnt concern us at Sunrat Tattoo, we will still keep on going til the day we die, and Boss Man Tenam is nowhere close to giving up as the cops hope he does. TATTOOING IS NOT A CRIME!! FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS!!

INK BOMB TATTOO CONVENTION 2014

A lot of preparation and dedication by Ink Bomb and Sunrat tattoo staff has been in the works for the past few months, no one harder to make this years event right none other than Boss Man Tenam. Details of the convention has been made for everyone to have a look as to what Ink Bomb has planned for this year! Many Over Seas tattoo artists have been placed in the Booths at the event, make sure you make your appointments with the attending artists if you haven't already, they are filling up very very fast!

Ink Bombs two day convention will also have live bands and Live Hip Hop performances on the two separate days. Maybe tattoo is not your taste? At least come by for the Live Performances!

Sunrat Tattoo Studio Update

As time comes nearer and nearer to Ink Bomb 2014, Boss Man Tenam has been busier than ever. That doesn't mean the Studio is closed for awesome work though! Sunrat Artists Sabi and Saem have been holding down the shop with all customer tattoo needs. VANS Documentary with Boss Man Tenam!

Korea's Tattoo scene is not too good compared to the rest of the world. Almost everywhere in the world, tattoos are legal. Korea is one of the few countries that do not allow tattoos to be legal, Korean Law states that only Licensed doctors are allowed to tattoo. We and a lot of the real tattoo artists here in Korea think that law is bullshit (excuse the language, only word to be fit). Disregarding that law, Boss Man Kim Tenam has kept the underground tattoo scene here in Korea alive and he is definitely one of the few tattoo artists here that everyone can call a pioneer. Vans has recognized this sub-culture and for what Boss Man Tenam has done and is STILL doing for the tattoo scene here in Korea, and is being interviewed for the Vans documentary on Korea's Sub-Culture. We have managed to snap a lot of photos so we hope you enjoy!

Levis x Sunrat Tattoo Collaboration

So for the past month, Sunrat artists have all been practicing our art on a different type of canvas than we are used to. We have teamed up with Levis Korea about a month ago to do a collaboration. This collaboration consists of Old School Designs on Levis clothes. We have been practicing in between our normal clients to be prepared for these events with Levis and we have started our first weekend, therefore, we can post photos now! Here are more than a few photos to showcase what we have been up to past few weeks non-tattoo. Enjoy!

The Studio Face Lift for New Season!

Boss man Tenam figured it would be perfect time before all the chaos of Ink Bomb preparations begin to give the studio a new face lift. The weather is perfect and the sun is shining so we went all out for the new look. Tenam wanted that 50s and 60s feel this season to complete his shop fill, we had the finishing touches done this week and it turned out great!

Sunrat Update

These past couple weeks have been really hectic at the Studio. From Dejah Garcias guest work, preparations for Levis Korea collaboration, and from tattooing all day Sunrat kept real busy. Knocking out more bold and bright tattoos daily, here are some of the highlights from these past couple weeks.
